What are your thoughts???” Well, I’m more of an Alpha Male chick, (within reason. Meaning he’s respectful of me as an individual as well as a woman) Beta males just don’t do it for me. At least not for the long term anyway. I would eventually begin to feel as though I was with a woman who just happens to have a penis ;D
So I want a man who fully embraces the role he was born into in ALL aspects. Not just the roles that benefit me with no headache. As I fully embrace the role I was born into as a woman. I have no problem with chilvary. I have no problem with my mate wanting and needing to protect and provide for me. This is what he is suppose to do. This is what he is suppose to have the DESIRE TO DO. Does this mean I am weak or passive? Heck no. I can still provide and take care of, think & desire to do things for myself.
A woman’s strength, to be effective, doesn’t have to be “loud in your face demanding” or at every turn, you find yourself battling your mate for validation concerning your roles within the relationship. (What kind of relationship is that?) IMO, & through personal experience, I find it much more trying in exuding that quiet strength that allows me to play my role while allowing & trusting him to do his. I was not born in the Victorian Era, I was born in 1977. I am an individual with my own thoughts, ambitions, drive and so forth. But I guess I am old fashioned when it comes to being a unit with someone. Sharing my life with someone. Becoming ONE with my mate. Cos I have no problem whatsoever with my hubby being the Head. Especially when he is doing things for my benefit and well being and not dictating to me with an iron fist. We would submit to one another. As we should.So, I guess this is why when it comes to the Brothers within the BDB world, I have no problem with them beating their chests, taking charge etc, especially with their women.. Can this behavior be nerve wrecking? Beyond so at times. But I don’t see or feel as though they do it out of a complex to “keep a woman in her place” they do it cos they hold their women and women in general in the highest esteem. No matter the woman’s abilities etc.. As they should. I don’t think this is making excuses for them. It is what it is.
